Anglo American Zimele, in partnership with Sigma International, invites local women entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners in Tourism, Agriculture and Agri-processing, Construction, Retail and Services, Manufacturing, Mining Support, Logistics, and Renewable Energy to apply for the Women & Youth Start-Up Boot Camp for Kumba Iron Ore host communities of Kolomela in the Northern Cape.

  • Build practical skills in business ideation, planning, and entrepreneurship fundamentals.
  • Develop your Business Model Canvas tailored to your sector and local community needs.
  • Access virtual training, in-person workshops, and continuous support.
  • Connect with fellow entrepreneurs, industry partners, and the Zimele Hub network.
  • Participate in a pitching session for a chance to secure seed capital and launch your venture.
  • Walk away with confidence, clarity, and a tangible business plan.

This call relates to Kumba Iron Ore host communities of Kolomela in the Northern Cape, covering:

  • Tsantsabane Local Municipality
  • Kgatelopele Local Municipality
  • Griekwastad Local Municipality

  • New or aspiring business, less than 1 year old or not yet registered, in Tourism, Agriculture and Agri-processing, Construction, Retail and Services, Manufacturing, Mining Support, Logistics, or Renewable Energy.
  • Minimum 51% Black South African female-owned/entrepreneur.
  • Must be less than 35 years old.
  • Located in the relevant Kumba Iron Ore host communities in the Northern Cape.
  • Entrepreneurs must be willing to participate in sessions, mentorship, and a pitching process.
  • Strong commitment to growth and sustainability, with preference for youth.

Women, youth, and people with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
